J. Stylez (@Mister_Stylez) - When All of the Lights Have Gone (Prod. J. Stylez)

It takes a lot of talent for me to promote an artist at all. Given my word may not mean much to everyone but being able to use this index means when I hear music that the world should hear, I do what I can to get it out there. This guy is the Jack of all Trades: He a rapper, singer, songwriter and a producer meaning music is his life and after hearing some of his work, I felt his first single had to be delivered to the world. His debut album Hurry Up... And Wait is dropping 11-11-11 but nonetheless I'm sure he'll have music for us until then. For now, This isn't the one to sleep on. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you J. Stylez.

"It's cool you might... know the recipe to certain things, that does not mean you know how to cook. Stay the Hell out the kitchen."

Cory Gunz - Outta My Mind

Gunz was never one to mess with and from what I'm hearing, that never changed. I seen one episode of the show he's been doing on MTV and he was recording this very track. Expect the video Friday.

Kudos: NahRight

Tyga (feat. Chris Brown) - Snapbacks Back

The tired "Tupac Back" trend makes its return for the latest leak off Tyga's Well Done 2 mixtape. This stupidity really needed to die with "Reebok Back".

JumpOffTV Discusses Big Sean (@BigSean) & Finally Famous

A cool little discussion I felt deserved a post. Some twitter personalities take to JumpOffTV to discuss what they think about Big Sean and his album. I might do a review of my own later.

Lloyd Banks - Check Me Out

This.Is.TOUGH. Produced by Cardiak and it sounds too good to not be a single or something but right now it hasn't been confirmed. Banks is really only getting better. Do What You Do and check it out! (no pun intended.)

QuESt - RhiiimePoWeR

After announcing a delay for his upcoming project How Thoughtful 2, Miami rapper QuESt adds his own touch to the Kendrick Lamar single, "HiiiPoWeR". Here's what he had to say about it:
"'RhiiimePoWer' is about taking pride in your lyrical content as an MC. It isn't necessarily promoting a certain style of rhyming, but more or less promoting actual real content in your lyricism. I chose to rock over Kendricks 'HiiiPoWer' simply because it gave me the proper soundtrack to display my thoughts. Lets get back to taking pride in our messages and lyrical content. We affect more lives than we can ever think of." -QuESt

Freddie Gibbs [@FreddieGibbs] Fires Off at Wale, Lil B and Big Sean

From HHNM via Complex :

On Lil B:
What’s wrong with Lil B?
I don’t got no problem with Lil B. I met Lil B.
Where did you meet him?
Somewhere in Cali at some rinky-dink, lame-ass, fake nigga industry party. All that shit was some bullshit, I just called it on that. And he told me, “You know what man, you right. I’m not gay man. It’s love Gibbs, man.” He thought I was about to dig into him, like do him like my song. But I’m not about to take my time to be dissing this nigga.
A motherfucker asked me a question [about his album title] in an interview and I was like, “That shit is corny, that shit is lame, I think he’s just doing some marketing shit.” Which he was. Nigga probably isn’t even gay. He might be gay, I don’t give a fuck if he is or isn’t.
Don’t get it twisted, I’m not knocking no gay people or gay-bashing. I just see a young black dude putting a message out there like, “I’m gay.” I think that a motherfucker with a platform like that should use that for something other than that.
I’ve got little cousins like, eight or nine years old and I feel sorry for them motherfuckers because of the rap that they’ve got to listen to now. This new shit for them is fucked up. I be looking at it like, “Damn, man. When I was coming up we had Rap-A-Lot, Death Row, and real shit like that.”
On Big Sean and Wale:
Well Wale’s definitely someone I’d compare to a Big Sean-kind of guy.
What kind of guy is that? See, you can’t even fucking pinpoint it. You can’t even put these niggas in a box and label it. All of these niggas. Big Sean, Wale. You just said “Big Sean is like a Wale kind of guy.” What is that? Fucking weirdos, right?
No, the weirdos would be like Lil B. That’s Swag Rap.
That’s some buttfuck rap. That’s a whole issue. I’m saying, you can’t even put these niggas [like Wale and Big Sean] in a category. You don’t know what the fuck they are. I’m a gangsta rapper. That shit is just like if you had a box in here of shit you didn’t want, it was just miscellaneous shit, that’s where you’d throw them niggas. It’s a box of lost and found shit.
This is one hilarious dude. I won't even touch on the Lil B stuff but he's talking all that talk about Wale and Big Sean as if he's in a better position. I'm not even gonna get into this too much but I'll say this, don't talk down about artists who actually HAVE albums (Not EPs) currently in stores that are longer than 7-8 tracks that people appreciate. Not even for the beats, but for the quality lyrics in them and the project as a whole. Everyone has a different taste in music. But anyway, Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away is out now. Go get it if you're with it.

Meek Mill (@MeekMill) Feat. Rick Ross (@RickyRozay) & Swizz Beatz (@TheRealSwizzz) - Reebok Back (Video)

Swizzy caught up with Meek and Ross for the video to this variation of Mill's hit everyone wanted to make a remix of. I don't know if they're STILL sold out but I'm sure they probably are. If they're not however, I'll gladly take a pair. Size 11. Thanks in advance.

Missy Elliott Speaks on Dealing with Graves Disease

For those of you who didn't know, Missy Elliott recently revealed to the world that she was dealing with Graves disease which everyone blew way out of proportion, assuming the worst. Well, today she released this statement to clear the air:

“There have been some inaccuracies reported in regards to my diagnosis with Graves’ Disease, so I wanted to clear things up. I was diagnosed with Graves’ Disease about three years ago but it really hasn’t slowed me down at all. I rocked my performance on VH1 Hip Hop Honors’ tribute to Timbaland last year. I’ve written and produced a bunch of Grammy-nominated, #1 hits for artists like Keyshia Cole, Monica and Jasmine Sullivan. I toured the UK, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. And on top of all that, I’m working on my new album. I feel great. Under my doctor’s supervision, I’ve been off medication for about a year and I’m completely managing the condition through diet and exercise.” — Missy Elliott

Glad to hear she's doing Ok.

Pusha T - Trouble On My Mind (Feat. Tyler, The Creator) (On The Scene)

LA Weekly was recently over on the set for Pusha’s upcoming video with Odd Future’s Tyler, The Creator. It's produced by The Neptunes and will be featured on Pusha’s upcoming EP which will drop in August. Director Jason Goldwatch explains the concept below.
For the “Trouble on My Mind” video, the art is just as much in the destruction as in the creation. The dingy hotel room set will be demolished by a bunch of Odd Future’s crew, including members Taco and Jasper Dolphin, within a couple of hours. As they begin to trash the room for the camera, Goldwatch repeatedly tells them to calm down, almost like a dad telling his kids to use their indoor voices. Teenage-boy testosterone sucks the air out of the space almost as much as the fumes of fireworks and spray paint do. Pusha T has disappeared. Tyler’s tricks, like purposefully stumbling off his crutches and into the bedside dresser, are funny to newcomers, but it’s getting late."
Shout Out to RapRadar for the Info/Photos after the break.

Lil Wayne Covers the July/August Issue of XXL, Speaks On Retiring

"The Young Money leader also revealed to XXL that he plans to retire soon and hints at C4 possibly being his last offering. “I’m bowing out still on top,” he says. “I’ma make y’all want me when I retire. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Nooo!’ I ain’t leaving out this bitch when y’all be like, ‘Yeah, it’s about time, dawg.’ Carter IV might be my last one. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Fuck!’ Yeah, nigga, I’m gone.”

Wayne saying being a good father to his children would be the cause for an retirement. “Honestly, this is the real truth,” he says. “I honestly think it’s unfair to my kids. I’m super dedicated into what I do. Like, it’s no questions—it’s hands down, I do this. I live this. I don’t have a day out my week that I do something else. I do this every day of my life, and I’m not about to stop, ’cause that’s the only way you can succeed in this business, is to do it the way I do it. I want to succeed the way I want to succeed. You can succeed. You can put out a hit… But to do it the way I want to do it, to be comfortable to do what the fuck I want to do, you’ve got to work like no other. Like I said, it’s unfair to my kids. So about 30, 31, 32, I gotta get ready."

Straight from the people over at XXL. Well Wayne has been saying he was going to retire at 35 for years now, but all of sudden he's pushing it up between 30-32? I don't know how much I believe this. Wayne BREATHES music and for him to just suddenly decide he wants to possibly stop as soon as after this upcoming album, just doesn't sound like it's possible for him to me. Not to say the man doesn't love his children, but for someone to exist in the studio as often as this he does... It sounds like a reason to just buy the album as a Wayne fan. "I'm going to get it because he said it's going to be his last album." He's an artist who has been involved with rap for over a decade so going cold turkey from it would just seem weird and unlikely. We might see Weezy take a moment away from Hip Hop, but we won't see him leave it.

Rickie Jacobs - Nightmare In California
